Height is the whole point

Gravity infusion depends on the height of the bag above the patient, so a stand that cannot be adjusted quickly is a stand that gets propped on a chair. The telescopic pole locks at any height with a hand knob, with no tools and nothing to seize, so staff can reset it when a patient sits up or the bed height changes.

Four legs or five

A five-leg base spreads the load more evenly and is harder to tip when the pole is extended and carrying several bags, which is why it is usually specified where stands are wheeled with patients. A four-leg base takes up less floor space and costs less, and is adequate where the stand stays at the bedside. Both run on castors so the stand travels with the patient.

Hooks and finish

The four-hook top carries multiple lines and piggyback sets; the two-hook top is the economy option where only one or two bags are ever hung. Poles are stainless steel as standard, with a fully powder-coated pole available on the economy build.
