Bariatric Chair with Reclining Backrest – Price in Pakistan

A wide, deep chair for patients who cannot be seated comfortably or safely in a standard ward chair. The backrest reclines on a side lever so a patient can rest without being moved to a bed, the armrests are padded and set high enough to push up from, and the tubular steel frame is cross braced at the base rather than relying on the legs alone. Levelling feet keep it steady on an uneven floor.

  • Seat: Extra wide, deep cushion
  • Backrest: High, reclining on a side lever
  • Armrests: Padded, on chrome support posts
  • Frame: Powder-coated tubular steel, cross braced
  • Feet: Levelling
  • Upholstery: Wipe-clean vinyl
  • Application: Wards, day units, dialysis, waiting areas and long-stay seating

Description

Why a standard chair is the wrong chair

Seating a heavier patient in a chair that is too narrow is uncomfortable, but the real problem is the armrests: they press inward, and the patient has nothing to push down on to stand up. A wide seat with armrests set outside the hips means the patient sits square and can get up without being pulled.

Getting in and out

The armrests are padded along their full length and carried on chrome posts, so they take the patient’s full weight during the push-up that begins standing. That is the moment of highest load on any patient chair and the reason armrest mounting matters more than armrest padding.

The reclining backrest

A patient who will sit for several hours needs to change position. The backrest reclines on a side lever so the angle can be changed without transferring the patient to a bed, which matters on a day unit or a dialysis session where the chair is where the patient stays.

Frame and stability

The tubular steel frame is cross braced at the base rather than depending on the leg joints, which is what stops a wide chair racking when the load is applied off centre. Levelling feet take up floor falls so the chair does not rock.

  • Seat: Extra wide with deep cushion
  • Backrest: Reclining, side lever
  • Armrests: Padded, post mounted
  • Frame: Cross-braced powder-coated steel
  • Feet: Levelling
