Crank height adjustment
Radiant heat falls off sharply with distance, so the height of the head above the mattress is the main control the clinician has over how much heat reaches the baby. A crank lets that be set and changed deliberately, rather than being fixed by the column, and it holds position without power.
Storage where the baby is
A delivery is not the moment to be opening cupboards across the room. The cabinet under the platform holds warm towels, hats, suction catheters and the resuscitation kit at the bedside, with a drawer for small items and a cupboard for bulk. That is the practical difference between this and an open-frame warmer.
Platform and walls
The bassinet platform tilts on a lever for head-up or head-down positioning, and the acrylic walls keep the baby visible and contained while leaving the top completely open for access.
Moving it
Four castors carry the whole unit, cabinet and contents together, so the warmer arrives at the delivery already stocked.
