Flat top, island or wall
Without an upstand the bench can stand in the middle of a room and be worked from either side, which suits a packing line where staff face each other, or an inspection bench that needs access all round. Against a wall it still works, but where splash onto the wall matters the backsplash version is the better specification.
The welded top
The top is welded and ground rather than folded and fixed, so there is no seam across the working surface. On a bench where instrument sets are laid out and wrapped, that is the difference between a surface that decontaminates and one that holds residue in a joint.
Undershelf and levelling
The undershelf runs the full length and keeps wrap, trays and consumables off the floor. Adjustable feet on round tubular legs take up floor falls so the top sits level and nothing rolls.
