An island gondola turns one footprint into two runs of shelving, which is why it is the standard fixture down the middle of a retail floor. Both faces are identical, so the unit can be laid out to a planogram from either aisle.

Choosing the back panel

The perforated pegboard panel accepts hooks, arms and peg accessories anywhere on the panel, so hanging stock such as sachets, blister strips and small accessories can be merchandised in the same bay as shelved stock. The slatted panel carries shelves only, and is the choice where everything is boxed or bottled and nothing needs to hang.

Price rails and finishing

Clip-on price rails fit the shelf front edge and take printed strips, available in green, red, pink, yellow and blue so categories can be colour coded along a run, in a single colour or mixed. A stainless steel kick plate protects the base from trolleys and cleaning equipment.

Base deck and stability

A base deck runs along both faces for bulk packs and heavier items, and keeps the load low so a tall double-sided unit stays stable on an open floor. Levelling feet take up uneven flooring.
