A beam that stays put
The common complaint with examination lights is drift: the head is positioned, then sags out of place during the procedure and has to be reset with a gloved hand. A rigid jointed arm pivots at defined points with enough friction to hold the head indefinitely, which is the right choice for anything that takes more than a moment.
LED rather than halogen
LED runs cool, so the head can be brought close to the patient and to the clinician’s hands without radiant heat becoming a problem, and lamp life is long enough that replacement is rare rather than routine.
Moving and parking
