The bare steel top
An unupholstered top is specified where contamination matters more than patient comfort, because there are no upholstery seams for fluid to enter and the whole surface is washed down rather than wiped. The kidney cutout gives drainage and access. A separate pad can be laid on the top where a case needs it.
Sections and access
The top breaks into sections for head, back and legs, adjusted on the handwheels and lever. Castors let the table be repositioned in the room rather than being fixed to one spot.
